The typical layout of office spaces in Kerala has been air-conditioned, standard cubicles in multistorey buildings that incorporate few architectural designs elements. To make office spaces more conducive to employee productivity, there was a need to change the standard designs. Greenspark was also such an office space with a lack of interactive and spacious pockets.
Hence, the design challenge was to create an efficient and comfortable space for the staff, who work long shifts, so that they deliver more productive outputs. It also intended to provide a visual and experiential connection to the spatial arrangement and material palette used.
The key design solution for this challenge was the integration of tropical climatic features into the office interiors, as they have strong coherence with breathing spaces, lighting and air circulation. The interiors have been designed in such a way that the users would easily be able to adapt to the workspace and feel the difference from the generation-old standard cubicle workspaces. With a touch of green and sustainable local materials and craftsmanship, the interiors now contribute to the conception of fresh ideas and increased productivity.
